Step By Step Guide to Transfer WordPress Site From Localhost To Live Server
Step1. Export Your Database From Local WordPress Server
To transfer WordPress site from LocalHost to main server, our first work is to Export Database from old host or Localhost.
Login to your phpMyAdmin, Simply you can login from http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ Then Click on your database file name, On Top bar Export button will appear, click on it. Here you will get more options, simply select all tables. Then click on save as file then go.
You will be able to to export file as Zipped or gZipped Select gZipped for compression. Click On Go button to complete export process.
Step2. Upload WordPress File to New Server
Now you need to access your remote site using FTP. Connect to your FTP client using your live server user id and password. Before login to your FTP account you need to create a FTP account in your own server. Find out where you exported WordPress Database, then select all files and upload from there.
After finishing uploading, Your remote site will like this.
Step3. Create a MySQL Database On New Server
Now time to create a new database where you will upload your file. After login your hosting cPanel, Click On MySQL Database.
Now Create a New Database, Create a name, Username and Password then click on Add Database. So, your new database is ready to use.
Now create a new MySQL User. To do this click on “Add A New User” then type your name and password then Click “Add User”.
So, you completed task to create your new user database. Now add your user with database. For this click on Add User To Database then Write your user name and database name then “Add”.
Hit on All Privileges box from “Manage User Privilege” page. Then click “Set Privileges”. Set all privileges to the user. If your information is correct, you will get a confirmation.
Step4. Upload Old Database on New Server
Upload Exported Database on New Server, After login to your cPanel Dashboard go to phpMyAdmin then select your new database.
Click on import tab, upload your downloaded data.
Step5. Need to Change On Database Table
Follow the steps bellow to go live.
1. Select “wp_options” from the left side table.
2. Click On Browse tab then click on site URL, give here your Domain homepage URL , then save.
3. In this page click on “Home”, also give here your site URL then go. You just want to change your site http://localhost/yoursitename to http://yoursite.com .
4. Now edit Wp-Config.Php file, you are in last step to complete the full process. Here edit your user name , database and password. Then save this file .
